Taylor's Farm Shop by Georgia

On Tuesday 8th November, class 3 went on a trip to Taylors Farm Shop. Here's some of the thing:

First, Joe and Bernie (the wonderful owners) showed us the cows (it stank!). They told us that the horns were taken off for traveling purposes. Cows are given something that is a bit like registration pass on their ear. It's a bit of a tracking device so they know who's where and when. Afterwards, Joe and Bernie showed us to the fridge, a cold room where they keep the meat before it is sold. We learnt what the rarest cut meat was, the tail, and also where all the meat we eat comes from. When we were done, Joe and Bernie took us to the butchers kitchen. There we saw Joe linking sausages (which we ate later that week) and how sausage rolls are made. They were the mini ones you get in your lunch box. Then we went to see the delicatessens, where they sell the pork pies, sausage rolls and other pastry products. We even got to try a pork pie and sausage roll! They were delicious, just divine. Finally we found out about the fruit and vegetables and where they come from and the different temperatures they need to grow in.

Overall I think I speak for all of class 3 when I say it was an experience of a lifetime.
