PTA
Since 1984, Friends of Mawdesley St Peter’s C of E (the PTA) has welcomed parents, teachers and friends of the school to take an active role in the non-academic running of Mawdesley St Peter’s.
Our objective is primarily to engage in activities which support the school and so help to contribute to the educational experiences of the children. However, a further key objective that drives our passion is to ensure social opportunities are offered on a regular basis for parents, and pupils, to make friends within the school community.
Regular meetings throughout the school year ensure we plan and promote many social and fundraising events. The Christmas Spectacular, the Spooktacular disco, the ever popular Summer BBQ and a more recent cinema screening are just some of the many exciting events embedded in both the school and village social calendar by the PTA.
Over the years we have supported the school in many ways. Most notably by funding educational visits, the purchase of fun and educational outdoor equipment as well as general resources such as books, games and more recently IPads for each classroom.
During 2022 - 2023, we fundraised for a huge project. A project that was really important to the children and they had been asking about for quite some time ...new KS2 toilets, so that was the big fundraising project. The work is now finished and the children are delighted with their new toilets (and especially delighted with their hand-dryers!) It was all very exciting and also shows just how much we do listen to the views of our pupils.
Our project for 2023 - 2024, again something that the children have asked for, is to develop the outdoor play equipment. Again this will be a huge project, so your continued support to the PTA is very much appreciated.
We believe a good school is more than just a place of learning; it is part of a community. The PTA is proud to encourage parents, teachers, and friends of the school to come together to help plan, promote and provide the best possible education for our whole school community.
As a PTA we have set up a link with My Nametags. Parents can go to the website https://www.mynametags.com and order name tags, quoting our personalised school ID 26853. For every order made, the PTA will get 24% of the cost of the order donated.
