Mawdesley St Peter's Church

Mawdesley St. Peter’s School is blessed by the support of St. Peter’s Church, Mawdesley. Church Schools like ours certainly have a special ethos, and this is due to the fact that Christian values underpin everything we do. The School and the Church work very much as a partnership. We share a lot of annual events together. School also enjoys the privilege of leading services in Church. Members of Mawdesley Methodist Church and St. Peter’s Church regularly come into School to lead worship enabling the children to benefit from the rich knowledge and guidance of clergy members.  We feel it is crucial for members of both Churches to be on the School Governing Body.

Key shared events in the life of the Church and the School are listed below:

  • Agape Service
  • Anniversary Sunday Service
  • Christingle Service
  • Christmas Nativities
  • Christmas Fayre
  • Christmas Coffee Afternoon
  • Harvest Festival
  • Sunday Family Services
  • Y6 Leaver’s Service
  • Y6 Leaver’s Workshops in Blackburn Cathedral

Mawdesley St. Peter’s School is a part of the Blackburn Diocese. The Blackburn Diocese is an excellent organisation that runs many events to support Church Schools. Children are taken to conferences organised by the Diocese to involve them fully in the vision for the School. Staff also receive much training and support from the Diocese. The Blackburn Diocese is extremely supportive and looks after all of its schools with skill, passion and commitment.
